The first chick built a house of leaves. The second chick built a house of branches. And the third chick, she was very smart, built a house of bricks.

When the beast came to the first house, he just breathed heavily and exerted himself and it blew the house down. The first chick scampered to his sister's house.

The beast came to the second house and huffed and puffed and it blew the house apart. The two chicks ran to their sister's house.

But when the beast came to the third Kids Story Books house, he breathed heavily and blew but it wouldn't fall. The chicks were sound inside.

Finally, the beast was too exhausted to try any longer. He went away defeated.

The three chicks learned that it is important to be strong and to build a sturdy house. They lived happily in the end in their brick house.

Once upon a time, little Timmy Turtle was exploring through the forest. He spotted something shiny under a bush. Timmy gingerly crawled over and looked it.
